Prescript-Assist™ is a probiotic-prebiotic supplement which combines 30 soil-based pH-resistant microorganisms with Leonardite prebiotic to increase the gastrointestinal micro-flora that have been disrupted by antibiotics or other medications and to assist the gastrointestinal tract in returning to a state of health. Prescript-Assist™ is especially effective in addressing issues around inflammation and diarrhea.

The Intestinal Mucosa (intestinal lining) is the largest immune structure in the human body and more than half of the body's immune cells are in the intestinal lining. Beneficial soil-based microorganisms improve intestinal tract functioning by preventing inflammations in the intestinal wall, protecting the body against pathogenic bacteria, assisting in the absorption of vitamins and producing hormones. They also stimulate the spleen to support the immune system, help the production of interleukins that enhance cell-mediated immunity and produce natural antibiotics to help kill pathogens.

Prescript-Assist™ helps establish the normal balance between the beneficial bacteria and pathogenic bacteria in the gut. Researches believe that the proper ratio of good bacteria to bad bacteria should be 85% good bacteria to 15% of bad. The use of antibiotics and other strong medications that cause gastrointestinal symptoms can upset this balance in favor of the pathogenic bacteria.

When the ratio of good to bad bacteria is upset it can lead to a condition called "leaky gut" where the intestinal wall is damaged by the pathogenic bacteria. This damage causes increased permeability of the intestinal wall. This means that toxins, partially digested food particles and harmful microorganisms can go through the intestinal lining into the blood stream and thus into the rest of the body. Researchers are finding that these partially digested food particles, pathogenic bacteria and other toxic substances can lead to a host of problems and imbalances in the body.

The manufacturer of Prescript-Assist™, Safer Medical, Inc., spent more than five years in Clinical Development Test and Evaluation (CDTE) testing the product against an array of intestinal tract issues before it was put on the market. There was a complete absence of any untoward side-effects with Prescript-Assist™ even when taken at the same time as prescription medications (which are often responsible for inducing gastrointestinal complications).

Each capsule of Prescript-Assist™ contains a proprietary blend of Leonardite, and the following Class I (beneficial microorganisms): Anthrobacter agilis, Anthrobacter citreus, Anthrobacter globiformis, Anthrobacter luteus, Anthrobacter simplex, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, Azotobacter chroococcum, Azotobacter paspali, Azospirillum brasiliense, Azospirillum lipoferum, Bacillus brevis, Bacillus marcerans, Bacillus pumilis, Bacillus polymyxa, Bacillus subtilis, Bacteroides lipolyticum, Bacteriodes succinogenes, Brevibacterium lipolyticum, Brevibacterium stationis, Kurtha zopfil, Myrothecium verrucaria, Pseudomonas calcis, Pseudomonas dentrificans, Pseudomonas flourescens, Pseudomonas glathei, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Streptomyces fradiae, Streptomyces celluslosae and Streptomyces griseoflavus.

Storage:

Special processing renders the microorganisms in Prescript-Assist™ into a state of dormancy so refrigeration is not necessary. You can store at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
