Biological Warfare
The
thought of biological warfare is terrifying to all of us.
Unfortunately, there are people in the world who would like
to harm others in this inhumane way. And a few of them have
the resources and means to pose a serious biological warfare
threat.
One
of the worst aspects of biological warfare is the terror
that it engenders in everyone. I would like to urge everyone
to work with dropping as much fear as they possibly can.
Prayer is one effective way to deal with both the threat
of biological warfare and the fear that it engenders. Building
your immune system up so that it is as strong as possible
if you are exposed is another effective way.
Another
way to help drop the fear is to learn as much as possible
about biological warfare. The truth is that countries are
learning more and more about how to respond to the biological
warfare threat. For example, after the terrorist attack
in New York City on September 11, 2001 and the subsequent
Anthrax in the U.S. mail system, we all found out that Anthrax
can be treated if caught in time. Military, emergency and
medical people around the world are being trained on how
to respond to biological warfare. |

Another
way to help alleviate the fear is to remember that
biological warfare does not mean that all humans on
the planet will be destroyed. We can have faith in
humanity to overcome such difficulties. It helps to
contemplate the absolute bravery and self-sacrifice
many people display when they encounter something
like biological warfare. Remember the response to
the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001? People
who were there helped each other out and dedicated
professionals charged into the buildings knowing they
would die. It would have been the same with biological
warfare. There would have been a biological warfare
incident - not the destuction of us all.
My
recommendations to you in coping with the threat of biological
warfare is that that you turn to whatever spiritual source you
believe in, that you keep your immune system strong, that you
learn about biological warfare so you can understand the realities
and that you do not let the threat of biological warfare put you
in such a fearful state you make decisions based on fear.
One
of the problems with acting from a fear base with the threat of
biological warfare is that you may be willing to allow your country
to destroy the environment by irresponsibly grabbing resources
such as oil or overlooking environmental problems such as pollution.
The biological warfare threat does not call for us to harm the
earth or lose our personal freedoms. Sometimes political leaders
play upon our fears by emphasizing the threat of things like biological
warfare rather than calling out the highest and best in us to
deal with these threats while maintaining a healthy planet and
personal freedoms. We need leaders with vision.
So
now you have my opinion on biological warfare (Sally Robertson).
This section has some of the news and research on biological warfare
I gathered in 2001. There is far more research out there today
and progress is being made in both early detection of biological
warfare agents and cures for the infections.
